Institutional Data Policy Training - Next Steps [02/11/08]
In support of the University's security awareness and education efforts, all authorized users of the following central Administrative Systems were asked to complete the Institutional Data Policy training:
- PeopleSoft and Financial Data Warehouse
- eReports
- eMaterials
- Admissions, BARS, MARX, Registrar's Web site and Student Financial Aid
- Alma Mater
- Impact
- Operational Data Store
These user groups were targeted to complete the training due to the large volume of data available in the above systems and the level of sensitivity of that data. The purpose of the training is to educate individuals on responsible data practices.
In order to ensure that the users of these systems have received appropriate education, the following steps will be taken:
- Beginning Monday, February 11, 2008, requests for new or additional access to the above systems will not be processed until the completion of the Institutional Data Policy training is verified.
- Beginning Monday, March 31, 2008, security access to the above systems will be disabled for current users who have not completed the training module. Account inactivation will be phased in as follows:
- March 31 – Operational Data Store
- April 7 – PeopleSoft Human Resources
- April 14 – Admissions, BARS, MARX, Registrar’s Website, Student Financial Aid, Alma Mater
- April 21 – PeopleSoft Financials and Financial Data Warehouse
- April 28 – eReports
- May 5 – eMaterials
