H1N1 and Business Continuity [9/09/09]

OSU Business Continuity Planners:

With the start of classes right around the corner, we encourage you to review and update your H1N1 planning activities.

In addition to updating your business continuity plans, here are a few things you can do right now to help:

  • Practice good hygiene: Cover your cough, wash your hands frequently, if you have a fever, stay home for at least 24 hrs after that fever has ended
  • Post hygiene signs in your area: Put up signs in your area reminding people to practice good hygiene
  • Practice good sanitation procedures: Increase efforts to wipe down surfaces, door knobs, keyboards, telephones, etc.
  • Prepare yourself and your family at home (water, food, medicines, infant-supplies, pet-supplies, etc.)
  • Set up employees to work at home: Ensure technical and policy requirements are in place; have staff practice ahead of time

Remember:  During times of peak H1N1 outbreak, as much of 40% of normal workforce staff may be unavailable.  In addition, supplies may be unavailable and some 3rd party services may stop.  Take this opportunity to update your business continuity plans using the following "How To" document

Please contact the Enterprise Continuity Management team at ldrps_support@osu.edu if we can be of any help in your planning efforts.
