How you should configure your mail client

Click Tools-->Options-->Getting Started, Sending Mail, or Hosts depending on the version.
Enter in the SMTP Server(Outgoing) field the mail server information for your ISP.
The following is an example using Road Runner (Time Warner).
Choose the Tools-->Options--> From the menu at the top of the screen.
Then choose the "Sending Mail or Hosts" option in the scrolling menu on the left pop up menu.
In the SMTP server box enter "smtp-server.columbus.rr.com".
Close the pop up menu and save your changes by clicking "OK".
Microsoft Exchange
Click Tools--> Tools-Services
If Internet Mail appears on the list of services, highlight it and select Properties
If Internet Mail does not appear, select Add then select "Internet Mail" and click OK
After selecting Properties, on the Services tab enter your account information
After entering the information as above, click on Advanced Options
Enter the name of the outbound (SMTP) mail server information for your ISP
Click OK then Click on the Connection tab.

Click Mail--> Options
Click on the Server tab
Enter the mail server information for your ISP.
Microsoft Outlook 98
Click Tools--> Tools-Accounts
Click the Mail tab, then on the Add button and select Mail
In the Display name box enter your name
Click Next
In the Email address box enter your email address
Click Next
Enter the mail server information for your ISP
Complete the remaining requested information with your osu.edu email information.
Netscape Messenger
Click Edit--> Preferences
Along the left, click on Mail Servers.
In the Outgoing Mail server box enter the mail server information for your ISP.
