MATLAB is a part of Mathworks R2008a and is an interactive environment for numeric computation that specializes in working with matrices. It combines a powerful user interface with 2-D and 3-D graphics and a comprehensive library of mathematical analysis techniques. The Standard Configuration for faculty, staff and students also includes Simulink (differential equation models, simulation, linear and nonlinear models, continuous and discrete models), and Toolboxes (Bioinformatics, Control System, Curve Fitting, Data Acquisition, Parallel Computing, Image Processing, Instrument Control, Optimization, Partial Differential Equations, Signal Processing, Signal Processing Blockset, Simscape, SimMechanics, Statistics, Stateflow ). The Student Configuration is the same except that is does not contain Parallel Computing Toolbox. Available to faculty and academic staff for teaching and research on OSU owned or controlled computers and campus computer labs. It is also available to faculty, academic staff and students for use on personally owned computers. Student use is limited to use in meeting classroom requirements and courses of study offered by OSU. Commercial use is prohibited. Additional toolboxes may be ordered. Please contact Tim Mathieu of The Mathworks at 508-647-7016, (tim.mathieu@mathworks.com) to inquire about quotations and orders for additional toolboxes. In this case The Mathworks will generate any additional license codes for add-on toolboxes (Child Licenses) for you to combine during installation with your Standard Configuration license codes. Media is distributed at the IT Service Desk in 025 Central Classrooms. A media set is $5, paid for with a 100-W. Alternatively, faculty and staff may exchange 1 blank DVD-R with white ink-jet printable label. Students must exchange 1 blank DVD-R media with white printable label. The bookstore in Central Classrooms, 2009 Millikin Rd., stocks acceptable media for exchange.
The MATLAB End User License Agreement must be signed by each user obtaining a copy of MATLAB. To facilitate this process, you can click on the link above and display the license as a .PDF file which you can print, fill out and bring to the IT Service Desk.
The MATLAB TAH Install Guide provides details on how to install additional toolbox licenses NOT in the OSU Standard Configuration along with the TAH license for the Standard OSU license configuration.
